There were too many worthwhile events and causes, and I tried to attend as many as I could. The events I attended left me inspired and awed at the human spirit and resilience. I heard stories from young leaders at the YMCA Future Leaders event that gave me courage and hope. At the “Love in the Soup” event, strong individuals told their heartfelt and powerful stories of their recover journeys. On a lighter note, I visited community gatherings and fairs in Lynnwood, Monroe, and Mountlake Terrace. One notable event was the Annual Health Fair in Tulalip. I visited the Snohomish County Legal Services and NW Justice Project table. The legal services organization is near-and-dear to my heart. From my law school years to my years as a judge, I either worked for a legal services employer, volunteered at a legal clinic, or served on a legal services board.
