My favorite campaign activity was doorbelling and building personal connections with people in the community. I was privileged to be invited into people’s homes to talk about the court system, the rule of law, and judicial independence. I listened to their concerns and suggestions about court governance. The face-to-face contact gave me an opportunity to share my story of coming to Washington as a refugee and how that life experience has shaped my work ethic, my commitment that courts must be fair and equitable, and at the same time, holding people to account for their conduct.
